Nominations are being sought for the State Document of the Year Award.
Librarians may nominate New Jersey documents which conform to the following criteria:

• The document must be published by a New Jersey State department, agency or commission (or a division thereof).

   

• The document must be distributed through the New Jersey State document depository system.

   

• The distribution of the document must not be "limited" in the depository shipments.

Judging Criteria

The winning document will be judged to best meet the following criteria:

1. The document contributes to the expansion of knowledge, gives evidence of innovation in presentation, or demonstrates a creative approach in its treatment.

    

2. The document has a relevance for new Jerseyans.

    

3. The document contributes to enhancing the quality of life for New Jerseyans.

    

4. The document contributes to an understanding of federal, state, or local government processes or functions.

    

5. The title reflects actual contents, the document achieves its intended purpose, and the format is appropriate to the contents.

    

6. The document is written in a lucid style comprehensible to nonspecialists.

    

7. The document provides for reference use.

    

8. The document is printed on recycled and/or permanent paper.

    

9. The document is generally pleasant to browse through, because of physical appearance, printing, binding, use of color, or ease of use.
